"Well..umm, glad everything is okay then?" Deidre asked quite awkwardly and I couldn't blame her, the situation was just strange. Worrying about your neighbor only to find out she was a lot taller than usual and that she had a device that could do something you thought was impossible.
"It is.. maybe I should just shrink back and stop making so much noise.." I tried to joke and smiled down at her. She might have interrupted my fun with the remote but I appreciated she only did it because she was concerned about me, and on hindsight it was probably for the best as both mom and Matt were still asleep. It would be way more embarrassing if they caught me right in the middle of doing what I was doing.
Deidre nodded and smiled back, and although it wasn't her usual warm smile I noticed how she looked more relaxed. For a second it made me think the reason she was fidgeting wasn't because she wanted to ask me more about the device, but because she was scared. Did she think I was going to use the remote on her? I would never do that without her consent! Even if it would be kind of fun.. maybe she was right to be a bit scared.
"I'll go back to my work then, you just.. be careful with that" Deidre said confirming my suspicions and taking her leave before giving me a chance to say something else.
After Deidre left I used to remote to go back to my original 5'6'' in order to avoid more episodes with concerned neighbors, and also just to confirm the remote had no issues with shrinking people. I found myself having to keep my panties from falling down and I got scared thinking I shrunk past my original height, but after comparing myself to the furniture in the room I just noticed with frustration the real problem, my earlier growing stretched my clothes so much they were no longer useful to me at normal size.
"Damn, maybe I can still use them if I decide to get taller" I thought as I went to my room for a much needed change of clothes and decided on what to do next. At this point I knew Deidre was right to be scared because I couldn't resist the thought of using the remote on someone else, but to avoid any further drama I decided to target either mom or Matt and just keep it in the family for now, and looking at the stretched clothes lying on the floor I discarded the idea of making them taller, at least for now.
The only questions left were who to target and how much to shrink them, because ANY scenario sounded both appealing and fun. I could shrink them a bit and see if they notice any difference, or shrink them a lot and get amused at how they deal with their reduced stature while I remained large and in charge, or even just using them to test how much smaller the remote could make a person.. I was already getting excited, I needed to try something now while they were, somehow, still sleeping
