This choice: Emily spots you on the ground. • Go Back...Chapter #6Consulting The Picture by: Neon You wait by the table leg, trying desperately to get a grip. Thus far you had handled the situation well enough to avoid being crushed under the awe-inspiring feet of your own friend. It was a good thing you were lithe enough to dodge, and with the instincts required to do so. If you craned your neck you could almost see the extent of the titanic Emily, but the tabletop obstructed part of your view, so seeing facial expressions was impossible in this stance. She takes another tentative step forward, which still shakes the ground you stood on violently.
Okay, at least she hadn't felt a splat under her heel after walking. There was still no evidence that Ant was even in the vicinity, but she wasn't ruling out that he might just be a bit too small to see, so every step would have to watched thoroughly if she wanted to avoid harming him. Then again, what if something even more farfetched had happened, like teleportation? This was all getting to sci-fi for her, but how does one rule out anything when a person just vanishes in front of them? Consulting the picture on her iPod once more, Emily's doubts were resolved.
Just at that moment, out of the corner of her eye, Emily noticed something else. At first she though it might be an optical illusion; that the picture appeared to be doubling itself because she was focusing on her peripheral vision. Sliding the gadget back into her pocket, Emily crouched down, scanning again for any proof of Ant's presence that might speed things along. She could have sworn that she saw something very tiny, but with destinct human features. Once she was closer down to the ground, the girl spotted Ant, leaning against the bottom of a table leg.
"Oh God, Ant, you're here!" she exclaims, almost too loudly. Suddenly alarmed, Emily lookes back over her shoulder, but luckily the bustling noise prevented anyone from noticing her voice. You look up at her, having been anticipating this ever since Emily started to crouch down closer to where you were lodged. You don't want to waste any time with inhibitions, so you race out to an enormous sandaled foot, signaling to the giantess for her to pick you up before anyone saw. With a split-second confused look, it register, and a dainty hand sweeps down to scoop you up. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
