You picked it up and read the message on the screen, "Transformation complete."
Had this device changed you into her?
Was there anything that could really do that?
As you pondered these questions, you noticed in the bottom right hand corner of the screen that there was a count-down timer which was at 00:00:00:12.
Once the timer reached zero, suddenly you changed back into your old self.
A thought dawned on you, this device has some very interesting possibilities. One of which being that you could change anything into anything else, and back. As you flipped through the options of the device, you notice a place to set the duration of the transformation, with the default being 7 hours. You wondered for a moment about the groupings of the digits on the timer, and came to the conclusion that it was set up with days:hours:minutes:seconds; all of which had a maximum of 60, except for the days which could reach 99. You felt slightly disheartened by the fact that it had a maximum, even if it was as large as 101 days 13 hours and 1 minute. Then you noticed a small check-box that would close the timer feature and had the text, "Infinite" next to it.
Just then, two other options caught your interest: "Change voice", which was currently set to "No", and "Inanimate moving" which was set to "Yes".
You decided to test this device, just to make sure you hadn't hallucinated the whole thing prior to it. You scanned one of your twenties from you wallet and then pointed the device at one of the styrofoam peanuts from the packaging and fired. You watched as, to your amazement, the peanut shifted shape and color until it became the twin of the money you had just scanned. It really does work!
