Giovanni was furious, Ash Ketchum had ruined his most recent plan. He had a squad of Rockets at the Lake of Rage, experimenting with forcing the evolution of Pokémon, with a red Gyarados coming from it, that guy teamed up with Lance to destroy all of their work, and to make things worse, the powerful Gyarados was caught by Lance. Even more frustrating, this was the third time he'd ruined his plans
The first time was when Giovanni tried to recover the Mewtwo his scientists had created. Fortunately, he'd had information stored in his database, because none of his group seemed to have memory of the events, so he'd called in surveillance cameras he'd had flying around to see what happened. Because of that boy, the most powerful Pokémon escaped from him. The other time was when some scientists invented a device to drive Pokémon furious and boost their attack power, the Rocket grunts managed to obtain a Lugia, but again, the boy ruined his plains, and freed the Pokémon who then proceeded to destroy the laboratory.
Giovanni had to admit, the boy was a good trainer that knew how use his Pokémon; Now he could understand why those three useless waste of space could never steal the Pokémon of the boy. Maybe with a good guide the boy could be a good member of the Team Rocket, if it weren't for his morality. Unlucky for the boy, he had intruded several times in the plans of Team Rocket, and Giovanni would make sure that Ash wouldn't get that chance again. Giovanni remembered that one of his scientists had learned of Mega Evolution, a temporary evolution using stones that make Pokémon more powerful. That scientist even gifted to Giovanni a stone for his Kangaskhan.
His scientists had been trying to create a stone for Mewtwo, the research of which was why he found out about Mewtwo, they hadn't made any progress, but maybe that useless stones could used in another Pokémon...

Giovanni toured Team Rocket's laboratories. There were many Pokémon in cages, some captured, some stolen, and found a Ditto. Immediately Giovanni ordered to the scientists to find a way to fuse the stone with the Ditto.

A few weeks later, Giovanni received a report "the fusion was successful." The scientists had broken the stone into many miniscule pieces, and injected the pieces into the Ditto with a surgery. The Ditto had shown an interesting ability, when, instead of transforming into Pokémon, it surrounded and consumed them, after which, it gained showed the ability to turn into the Pokémon at will. Strangely, it only seemed to work on female Pokémon. An interesting bit of information came to him when a report stated that one of his grunts had tripped and fallen into the Ditto, and had been likewise consumed. With that, Giovanni smirked and gave the order to go to phase 2: Make the Ditto hate Ash Ketchum.
Fortunately, when the Ditto absorbed the grunt, it retained her knowledge and understanding. It also seemed to prefer being a human, and referred to itself as female, however, Poké Balls didn't seem to work on it, and their sensors couldn't identify it as a Pokémon when in human form. The scientists, intending to accomplish their orders from their boss played many videos of Ash in some competitions and some interaction with Team Rocket members, emphasizing that he was Team Rocket's number one enemy. Giovanni's plan could have worked, but unfortunately for him and his organization never accepted that Pokémon are not tools, and that they are living creatures with their own minds and feelings. All of the experiments and surgery were painful, and this Ditto hated Team Rocket, and especially Giovanni, with a passion for this...
Ash Ketchum was totally different, he always worried for his Pokémon, and he always tried to become friends with Pokémon. Ditto wished she had met to Ash before Team Rocket obtained her, she would love to have been one of his Pokémon, but now she wants Ash to be her partner, and together they would destroy the Team Rocket; but for that Ditto needed be free and she started to think an escape plan. Unfortunately, her human form was too well known, so she couldn't get out without someone being informed before hand. Giovanni had her in a glass chamber, with the only opening being an air hole at the top that she couldn't reach, so she had to bide her time...

Ditto got her chance soon enough, when she saw a high ranking agent named Domino in the room outside of the chamber, making sure to stay far enough away that she couldn't be absorbed, however, Ditto had been preparing and waiting. She turned herself into a Weezing she'd secretly consumed and used Smokescreen hide herself and make all humans in the area have a coughing fit, unable to stop her, then floated up to the hole, pressed against it, then turned into her natural form and slipped out. Ditto went towards Domino as she was coughing and trying to exit the laboratory, and couldn't see the pink substance that was coming near her until it was too late...

'Domino' was walking through the hallways of Team Rocket's base, the scientists were mostly having a snooze due to her becoming a Clefairy and using Sing. However, some of the scientists were women, and thus, prey for her, and she made good use of their knowledge as she wiped all of their data. She headed into the reactor room, then removed the safeties for the reactor, set it to overload, locked the door, blocked it with a desk, then turned into her normal form and slid out through the crack, before reforming into Domino and hiding. The alarms soon began to go off as several Rocket members began heading to the reactor room, only to find it locked, as she went to where the Pokémon were and freed them. She exited the base, then transformed into a Pidgeot, and flew towards Johto, as last reports on Ash's location placed him as just having left Blackthorn City.
'Wait for me, my love! Soon we will be together!' Thought Ditto.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
