Dimmsdale was excited as the annual beauty pageant came to an end. The town square was decorated with colorful banners, and the air was filled with chatter from excited spectators. But for Mrs. Turner, the day couldn't have ended more disappointingly. Watching the newly crowned beauty queen bask in the glory, her heart sank. She expected to win or at least come in first place, but the judges didn't even give her a second look.
Later at home, Mrs. Turner sat calmly on the living room couch, a melancholy expression etched on her face. She looked at the participation ribbon in her hand and sighed.
Timmy Turner, her ten-year-old son with the pink hat and eternally optimistic spirit, couldn't bear to see his mother so sad. He always saw her as the most beautiful woman in the world, no matter what any contest said. Determined to cheer her up, he excused himself and went to his room, where his secret godparents, Cosmo and Wanda, awaited him.
"Hey, champ, what's up?" Wanda asked, floating with her star-tipped wand.
"It's Mommy," Timmy replied, his voice full of concern. "She's really upset about losing the beauty pageant. I want to make her feel better."
Cosmo, ever the idiot, tried to juggle his wand and a rubber chicken. "Why don't we make her look better so she can win next year's pageant?" he suggested, only to drop the chicken with a loud scream.
"Be quiet, Cosmo," Wanda scolded her husband. "Timmy wants something to help her now."
Timmy thought for a moment, and then his eyes lit up with an idea. "I wish..."
