The technology is brilliant. For the next two weeks, the microscopic machines floating in your bloodstream will detect any stresses on your body and adjust your physiology accordingly. If it's too sunny, they'll stimulate melanin production to darken your skin. If it's too cold they'll boost your metabolism to kick out some heat, or coerce your body into laying down a protective layer of fat cells.

They also make your body immune to airsickness, jetlag, and dodgy foreign food. They're the ultimate in travel companions.

You can feel the nanites going to work almost immediately. The pressure in your ear decreases, your stomach settles, and your nausea evaporates. You breath a sigh of relief.
