The Bakery

Sam was in the bakery area of the grocery store, surrounded by bags of breads and pastries. He knew that bread was bought by almost everyone here, so he climbed the stands to the bread bags. He found a loaf of whole wheat and stood on top of it, waving his arms around, hoping to be seen. Eventually, someone bought the bread. However, that person did not notice Sam, and when it was lowered into the shopping bag Sam was buried under other groceries. He also got handled unknowingly at the check-out line, and in the end was put back into the bag. Who bought the bread?
