Mom, looking completely shell shocked, turned from you, to Harry, to Megan, then to Hayley before finally managing to find her voice. "How?" she asked, stunned.
You winced as you simply replied, "Uncle Jack."
Harry winced as well as he also replied simply. "An antique collection."
Only, his voice seemed slightly higher and he was unaware that his hair had grown a full inch. Megan, noticing this, turned pale then pointed at Hayley, saying, "She did it." she then, she fumbled with her hands and quickly added, "I think it was an accident, something about her power leaking into me."
Mom turned more pale with each brief explanation. "That's nice." she said in a dream like tone.
Everyone gasped as mom then fainted, crumbling to the floor.
"Mom!" yelled Hayley, hurrying to her with you behind.
"It was a bit of a shock to her, I suppose." said Harry.
"You think!?" asked Hayley, not looking at him. "John, put on the couch, please."
As you did, Hayley turned to Harry but turned pale, yet again as she found that he was slowly transforming. "Harry!" she screamed, frantically. "Empty your pockets, NOW!"
Startled by the urgency in her voice, Harry quickly emptied his pockets. He placed their contents onto the table and Hayley saw item after item that were magical artifacts being pulled out.
"He has a magical addiction." she thought, concerned. "This is not good. I'll have to put him into 'rehab'."
After laying mom onto the couch and making her comfortable, you turned to harry to find Hayley physically searching him, looking for any items he may have missed.
"I didn't miss anything." said Harry, his voice and hair back to normal. "Was I really transforming just then?"
"Yes, you were." replied Hayley. "Unless you want to become a girl and a witch, like me, I suggest you stay away from your collection for a while and bunk with us."
"What about me?" asked Megan.
"You can stay with your mom." said Hayley, more calmly. "Only, I suggest you don't try your hand at magic unless you want to make this an all girl group."
"I have a year of training in my science." you said, shuddering at the thought of an 'all girl' group. "I can defend myself."
"I'm sure you can, john." said Hayley, turning to you. "Uncle Jack was the first pseudo witch, he no doubt taught you how to fight magic through science. However, he had a high resistance to magic, due to mom and aunt Catherine's overzealousness as teenagers."
You opened your mouth to speak but Hayley cut you off. "Your resistance to magic, having just discovered it was real, is almost nonexistent." she told you. "All it would take is one lucky hit. Do you think you can you use your curious power as a six year old girl or younger?"
You were surprised by the question. "I'm not sure." you replied.
"As I thought." said Hayley. "We will discuss a method of increasing that resistance later." she then turned to Harry, who was reaching for one of the items on the table. "Touch it and I'll slap you silly!"
Harry froze. "Sorry... I guess I can't help myself." he said, wincing.
Hayley sighed heavily. "Megan, please take Harry into the guest bedroom and make sure he stays put." she said. "I have to make a phone call."
"Who are you calling?" you asked, curious.
Hayley replied, "I'm calling..."
