He felt as though the sweat was beginning to imbed him into her sole. If that happened, it would probably be the end, so he did everything in his power to keep himself from fully attaching, ignoring the devastating damage she was now doing to his arms with every step. He simply had to put up with the pain the constant taste and smell of swear as he hoped for a lucky break.
And, as though the other plane was looking out for him, he was finally given a break. Erza hadn't put her boot on correctly, and the moment she tried to burst into a run, it fell off of her foot, unleashing the smell to everyone in town and as it had the Guild members, caused a decent number of civilians to walk in the opposite direction, or enter their homes.
She grit her teeth as he face went pink, and one of her fists balled up. She was willing to let the bug take the full brunt of it, but when others actually ran away due to it, it was a bit embarrassing.. She walked back towards her now missing boot, and picked up with her open hand.
She walked of a little ways to lean against a wall and put it back on. After tightening it properly this time, She trudged along the road again, considerably less excited about doing this mission. But luckily, due to her now sullen attitude, she had forgotten about her little 'bug buddy'.
Said bug, was now lying on the ground, smiling into the dirt without even lifting his head. The smell of her feet had already seeped into him, but it was much better now that he was actually free. He let out a boisterous laugh as he picked himself off of the ground, but his smile fell near immediately after.
