As I laid there in the hospital bed, I wondered what grandma Grace meant by her words when I hard my mom's voice in my head, causing me to jump. *He is going to make me gray before my time, scaring me like that!*
"I didn't mean to scare you, mom." I said, causing her to jump. "I'm sorry."
*How did he know what I was thinking?* mom forced a smile. "It's alright, Jon." she replied. "You get some rest."
"How did I know what she was thinking?" I thought, curious.
Then Grace's voice entered my mind as well. "You are hearing her spirit." she explained. "You can not see it, as you see me, as it is still one with her Earthly shell."
"Then... I can see dead people!?" I thought to her, turning pale.
Grace gigged, appearing before me. "Anyone can see dead people, Jon." she said. "Only you, due to your condition, an see and hear a person's spirit, hear what the spirit of a live person is thinking." with a sad sigh, she added. "However, like people, there is good and evil among spirits... be careful who you allow to approach you."
"Can they really hurt me, if I can see them?" I asked, whispering.
Grace shook her head. "Not physically but they can attack your spirit or worse, possess your body while you are not occupying it to claim a physical body of their own." she told you. "The spirit world is just as dangerous as the world of the living, I will help you all I can but you must remain alert."
I nodded as Grace then vanished and other voices began to reach my ears. They were all out in the halls and, fortunately, not entering the room. Still, I was curios.
