You don't know how your parents came to own a pet lion, though you've never asked; but you have always been fond of Nala. Your parents knew you loved the lion king when you were little so they named it just for you. Nala was an interesting lioness, she was much larger than the average lion being a full 2 feet taller. Despite her size she was quite gentle, never attacking you or your family when you enter her pen. It was getting to the point where your parents were contemplating allowing her inside the house.
With your parents away you were responsible for her feeding and care. Nala didn't need much when it came to feeding, just a few raw steaks, your parents decided to let nature help feed her, leaving a hole in her habitat for critters to walk in and more often than not letting her out into the fields behind your house to hunt deer.
Lately though you noticed her feeding habits have oddly changed. You recall her once catching a stray cat that wandered into her pen, but instead of tearing it to shreds, she lifted the cat by the tail, stretched her jaws wide and swallowed it whole. You had to admit it was odd but was utterly fascinating to watch. from then on if it wasn't a steak from you, she tried to swallow all her prey.
