Trap door into another area

After swiping the artifact from the pedestal, the pedestal suddenly and slowly sank into the ground along with the room rumbling beneath him. "Wh-whoa!' was only Fox could say as a trap door activated under him. He feared the worst of where he will fall to such as a spike or snake pit, but to his surprise the fall didn't last too long and his rump landed on smooth stone. Before he knew it, he was on a slide made out of rock! As much as the slide surface was smooth, the ride however wasn't as smooth as he continued sliding he hit the sides of the walls hard as the slide slithered with twist and turns. The rough ride down felt forever until he saw a light at the end of the slide tunnel where he then fell into...
