He traveled in the dry desert heat for nearly an hour until he saw something pointed over the horizon. As he gotten closer, he was able to make out an orange red mountain range with plenty of jagged rocks that stretched as far from the west to east. Getting closer still, he can make out some kind of cave opening at the base. Finally, some shade!
In a tired and weak legged state, he tried his best to quickly get to the cave before he gets cooked well-done from the blazing sun. He pressed on until he reached the mouth of the cave that stood at 10ft height and 10ft width.
Finally, he was out of the sun and into a cool shade. He leaned on the cave wall to take a breather, panting up a storm while letting loose a few coughs here and there as it echoed through the cave. It wasn’t the only thing that made an echo though as his stomach growled soon after. He managed to dodge deadly sunburn, but now he needed to fight off starvation and dehydration.
“Just one problem after another.” He muttered to himself.
He looked into the dark abyss, nothing than pitch black. What kind of things will he encounter in the dark deep? Well, he rather take his chances there than getting cooked outside that’s for sure.
He kept his hand on the wall as a guide and to keep balance as he started to walk farther into the cave. The only noises that accompanied him were his echoing breathing and footsteps along with the howling of the cool breeze. After what felt like half an hour as well as his eyes adjusting to the dark, he came upon another problem.
There was a fork in the path that split into three different passageways: left, middle, and right.
“Great, now where to go?” he said to himself, deciding which path to take.
