The trap

They seemed to walk for hours when Kane put his hand on her shoulder.

"What?" she asked in alarm.

"I...don't know. Something's not right."

Suddenly Raven felt herself lifting off the ground. Her face was smashed against the weaving of a net. It was trap for catching large animals by netting them and pulling the net about seven feet in the air. Raven began screaming for help.

"Shut up!" Kane said between his clinched teeth, "You want to die?"

"What are you talking about?"

"The ones who set the trap will come."

"What's going on with him?" she thought, "The hunter who set the trap will eventually come to check it and when he does, he'll let us down. Honest mistake. I can't imagine anyone being that hungry that they would eat humans, or would they?"

"Oh no," said Kane.

"What?"

"They've come for me. Listen, when they ask you- you NEVER saw the training camp back there."

Suddenly Raven heard footsteps from behind. A voice said, "Look what we have here."
