A cloud of smoke filled the air as you stepped off the pad. You looked down yourself and were extremely disappointed. You remained completely unchanged. You coughed the smoke out of your lungs and went to see what went wrong with your beautiful device.
"Nuts..what did I do wrong? Maybe I shouldn't hold the thorium core together with rubber bands like that...I should go into town and buy some iron coils..."
Grabbing your wallet you headed for the Trade District. As you hopped along, you didn't notice that the sleeves of your lab coat were rising up your arms. When you were about to cross the bridge you noticed another gnome with pink hair moving towards you. It was Sally Bronzebutton, a cute little girl gnome whom you had a big crush on but were too shy to ask out.
"Oh hey Glen." she said, "How goes business?"
"Oh hi Sally. It's just terrible, no one seems interested in buying my products. I can't seem to understand it."
"Well you're just not trying hard enough Glen, maybe you should hire someone to advertise your devices around the city."
"Oh...well would you be interested in doing that?", you said as you blushed.
"Hey now, don't look at me I have my own shop to run here. Besides if you walk around like that you're sure to get a few people interested."
"Walk around like what?"
"Your face, it's turning blue. That's part of your experiments, right?"
Quickly you walked over to the canals and stared at your reflection. You gasped and saw that your entire face had turned a light shade of blue! It was spreading too all over your body as you peered down your lab coat. Sally showed some concern but you spun around and said to her.
