Her whole family were super heroes. Cathy could fly and had super strength, Randy had super speed, Mom had telekinesis, and Dad could turn invisible. Mom always wanted them to fight crime together because it would help them become closer as a family, but sometimes they irritated Cathy to no end.
"So is there a reason you're half naked, or are you just having fun?" Randy asked.
Cathy fumed and grabbed a couch cushion to hold over her exposed crotch. "I ran into a super villain on the way home from school," she explained. "He had a ray gun that disintegrated clothes, so I lost my costume again."
"Really?" Randy asked, interested. "I could use a gun like that. What happened to it?"
"It got hit by a car."
"Huh. Well, if you lost your costume, let me order another one for you. This is so much easier now that your look's a Halloween item. You never know when you'll need it."
"Oh no," she said. "If I want another costume, I'll order it myself. You'd probably get me one that dissolves in sunlight or something."
Randy laughed. "Are you still upset about that? Take it easy, Cathy. It was a joke. You're probably the only person who didn't see the humor in it."
"Humor! Half the school saw me naked! Do you think that is funny?"
"Yeah."
"Why you little--I'll--" Cathy threw the nearest thing she had at his head. It turned out to be the couch cushion, leaving her exposed again. With her super strength, even a cushion could do some damage, but with Randy's super speed, he was behind her before it hit the wall.
"Nice shot." He spanked her bottom. "Nice view, too."
Cathy swung punch after punch at him, but he was so fast, the only thing that happened was that he literally stole the shirt off her back, leaving her completely naked in her family room.
"Hey! That's mine, you little twerp! Give it back!"
Randy waved the shirt around like he was a matador. "You want it? Come and get it." Cathy charged, but got nothing besides another spank. "Run, run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man."
"You won't run so fast after I break your legs," she snarled, charging again.
"You know, as much as I hate to enjoy dancing with my sister, you make this fun," Randy said. "I really should film this."
"You want to dance?" Cathy demanded, lifting up a couch over her head. "Fine. Let's dance!"
Suddenly the couch flew to the ceiling and Cathy and Randy flew to opposite walls. Their telepathic mother walked into the room with disappointment on her face. "How many times do I have to tell you two, no roughhousing!" she said. "If you're going to fight, take it outside." She looked at Cathy. "But you're not going anywhere dressed like that. Honestly, I know you're in the privacy of your own home, but we have windows. It simply isn't decent."
"He's the one who took my clothes!" she said, pointing accusingly at Randy.
"You're the one who threatened to break my legs!"
"Enough!" Mom shouted. "I don't want to hear about it. Both of you, go to your room, right now!"
"Yes, Mom," they chorused.
Cathy glared at Randy in the hallway. "Gremlin," she muttered.
"Troll."
Cathy slammed her bedroom door--accidentally. If she slammed it intentionally, there'd have been splinters--and threw herself on her bed. So far, it had been an incredibly rotten day. She wanted to boil herself in the shower, but on the other hand, she could check if her superhero organization had any missions for her. Slamming a criminal's head through a concrete wall could be just what she needed right now. Either way, the day couldn't get any worse.
