Bridget closed the office door behind her, leaving her mother to sign the necessary permissions.
Now would come the histrionic farewell her mother always indulged in when she went to a new school. Watching all the other students hurry past she just hoped her mother wouldn't be too embarrassing this time.
That was when she noticed some unusual looking students for the first time, the sight reminding her that this school was different. She'd heard of such schools before but hadn't made the connection until a girl with a tail peeking out the back of her skirt passed by.
Suddenly she became more aware of her surroundings, noticing the girl with the tail wasn't alone as there were not only polished school shoes treading the hallway but also paws and . . . There was a Naga!
She had never seen one of those before and had certainly not expected to meet one wearing the same uniform that she wore.
Bridget felt her heart racing as the girl came closer on her long, serpentine tail.
Bridget wasn't scared.
She wasn't going to run away. But she could go to her dorm room, she had the key.
