Ashley landed face down in her bed, startled but unharmed.
She looked up to see that the mirror was now engulfed in a golden light. The light hugged the mirror's surface. Ashley could not see it's stained oak frame or the glass, only a glowing rectangle as bright as a fluorescent bulb.
The light changed shape. Slowly at first and them more quickly it lost it's right angles and took on a more human shape. It was hard to make out the details because of how bright it was.
Suddenly, there was a flash that looked like lightning. Ashley's vision was dazzled and she had to blink repeatedly. When her vision cleared again, she was no longer alone in the room. Standing where her mirror was a woman.
The woman looked about six feet tall (about the same height as Ashley's mirror). Her dress was a v-neck, sleeveless, front wrap that reflected everything in the room. Ashley could not believe what she was seeing, the fabric was like a formfitting fun house mirror.
The features of the woman herself were just as striking. She was slender with square shoulders and supple terracotta skin. Her eyes were like round pools of mercury.
