As Matt returns to the table, Silvia's husband, whose name he can't remember at the moment, asks him again if everything is okay and he says yes, it must have just been some heartburn. As the waiter comes by though he orders a vodka cocktail and a glass of wine. he decides he's going to have a few drinks to calm down and help him relax to process this better. Matt just limps through pleasantries with Silvia's husband, David! Ha his name was David! Matt remembered being introduced to him a few times at work events and even once or twice in the office.
As the drinks arrived he wasted no time with the cocktail and ordered another one, David noticed and raised an eyebrow. "rRough day at the office you told him, there's a few big projects we're a bit behind on." he just nodded as if he understood, and matt laughed to himself at the truth in his statement that no one else in the world could know right now. Oh shit! no one epect maybe one other person he realized! was Silvia in his body? did she know what had happened? He assumes she would have called one of them, him or her husband if she was aware, or maybe she'd be at her house when he and her husband were done with dinner.
His net cocktail arrived and he asked for another glass of wine as it was delivered. Their food arrived with the glass of wine and he was disappointed that it was a salad with chicken, though it was nice salad, it wasn't what he would have ordered if he had the option. he slowed down his drinking over the course of the meal but by the time the bill came he could feel it starting to affect his head and he had been doing a decent job conversing with David as the dinner had gone on.
David paid the bill and helped Matt out of his seat, If David thought anything fishy was going on he hadn't let on about it. as the walked towards the exit David put his arm around Matt and Matt's first thought was "that feels nice, its very comforting" then he realized what he thought and tried to shake it off. David opened the car door for Matt and they started to drive home.
