This choice: First Mission outside the Temple • Go Back... Several years later....
"...No, but I do, Senator," Supreme Chancellor Palpatine was saying. Their argument was cut short as members of the Jedi Council entered the office.
"Senator Amidala, your tragedy on the landing platform, terrible it was. Seeing you alive brings warm feelings to my heart," Yoda greeted. Amidala, Palpatine and the Jedi talked for a bit and Palpatine brought up the suggestion of placing Amidala in the Jedi's care for the time being.
"Perhaps someone you're familiar with. An old friend, like... Master Jinn."
"That's possible," Mace Windu replied, "He's just returned from a border dispute on Ansion."
"Do it for me, m'lady."
"....Fine...."

Two Jedi rode on a turbolift, approaching the Supreme Chancellor's office.
"Calm yourself, Anakin. Don't center on your anxieties-"
"'Keep your focus here and now, where it belongs,' I know."
"You're tense. I haven't seen you this unnerved since we fell into that nest of gundarks."
"You fell into that nightmare, Master, and I rescued you, remember?"
"Yes," Qui-Gon said with a slight chuckle, "Relax. You're sweating."
"I haven't seen her in ten years, Master."
"Remember the Code, my young padawan."
"Yes, Master." The turbolift arrived and they stepped out and were greeted by Jar Jar Binks. The Gungan led them into the Chancellor's office.
"Lookie lookie, Senator, desa Jedi arriven," He announced.
"Master Jinn, it's good to see you again."
"And you as well, Senator." Amidala looked to his side.
"Ani? My goodness, you've grown."
"So have you," the padawan replied, "Grown more beautiful, I mean. Well, for—for a senator, I mean." Amidala smiled.
"Oh, Ani, you'll always be that little boy I knew on Tatooine." At that point, Amidala's chief of security stepped in to introduce himself.
"I know I'll feel better having you around. The situation is far more dangerous than the Senator will admit." indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
