What you see when you open your eyes is not what you'd expected or hoped for. You're in a cell, a stone room with bars on one wall. It's clean, and lit by torches near the ceiling. You're sitting against the wall farthest from the bars, with your arms raised above your head. You try to lower your arms, but you can't. You glance up, and see that your arms are in cuffs attached to the wall above your head by chains.
"Hey!" you shout. "What's going on? Why am I locked up?"
You hear footsteps, and someone appears outside the bars. He's a large man, bald with stubble on his chin. He's wearing simple clothing, with metal leg and shoulder guards and a bandoleer holding three knives. "Stop shouting, priestess," he growls, "Or I'll cut out your tongue."
"What do you want with me?" you say, in a lower tone.
"You are prisoner of the Red Raiders," he smirks. "You will provide your services to us now." He draws a knife. "Or else."
You glare at him, but before you can say anything, you hear a commotion in the distance, sounding like fighting. The man turns and heads away, out of your view, towards the sound.
A voice that sounds like the Young Priest's speaks in your head. "You may now access the menu. Simply say 'Menu' to do so."
"Menu," you say, and a display appears in front of your eyes: Character and Journal. With your hands chained, you can't touch the options, but you can speak them aloud. You access the Journal, and the display changes.
Quest: The Red Raiders
Objective: Escape the cell.
"Fairly obvious," you mutter, then switch to the Character page. An image of the Young Priest appears, identical to the character selection image. Next to the image is the character profile.
Name: Senna
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Class: Priestess
You check your abilities. You have a passive ability that detects items within range, a passive ability that grants social bonuses, a couple low-level buffs and healing abilities, and -aha- a "Mystic Flame" attack spell. It isn't very strong (and the description even says that it's one of the very few offensive spells the priest/priestess class gets), but it's your best chance of breaking out. You close the menu.
You stand up so that your arms are no longer stretched above your head, giving you a little room to move your arms.
