He steeled himself, took in a deep breath to call out to her, and prayed what he was about to do wasn't going to get him killed.
Cream heard the voice. Instantly stood up to see who was calling, obviously sending the small figure on her chest tumbling head over heels down dress to the ground below. It didn’t go unnoticed, however. Cream saw something small falling off her landing at her feet. Looking down she saw a very small figure lying among the flowers. Cream knelt down but too afraid to even touch that figure as he seemed very fragile to her.
"Um... who are you?" she asked in amazement.
‘She heard me!’ Thought Ash. ‘I just took a tumble down a living mountain, but she heard me!’
Standing up he looked skyward to see that the young rabbit was indeed looking back at him with a look of surprise, concern, and curiosity.
“He-Hello!” he called out.
She frowned “I can’t hear you very well. I can just make out what your saying.”
‘What? How can she not hear me with ear’s that big?’ he though. ‘There must be some sort of range limit.’
Thinking quickly, Ash gestured for her to lower her hand down.
“Oh! Okay.”
The young rabbit lowered her hand palm up to ground level. She waited patiently as the tiny creature climbed into it and carefully lifted her hand up to her face. For the human it was a strange sensation. It was like being in a really big platform elevator. Aside from his ears popping he felt perfectly safe considering he was in a giant hand.
Cream silently whispered being unsure if she was too loud for him: "Um.. well.. who are you?" she said smiling.
She did try to keep her voice as calm as possible as she was unsure if he would be afraid of her size to him.
"I am Cream!" she introduced herself.
The human looked up into Cream’s face, her smile having a relaxing effect on him. He knew then that he had nothing to fear from her.
“Ash,” he replied. “What is this place?”
“This is the great forest.”
“What world?”
“Huh?”
“Never mind.” Ash looked up at Cream. “Is everyone around here as big as you?”
“Bigger” Said Cream carefully sitting on the ground. “I’m only a little girl.”
“Not from where I’m sitting,” Ash mumbled under his breath.
Cream wondered.. "Hmm.. well.. I was honest.. among my friends.. I am the smallest.. Well, if you count Cheese, he's my little Chao friend - then I am not the smallest.. but he cannot speak."She then said.. "Oh where are you? Cheese!" she called.
Cheese was flying over.. still a tremendous amount larger than Ash. "Chao chao" the little chao cheered.
Cheese then smiled again: "Aww.. you little one are so cute, you know that."
"But well.. Tails is taller than me.. Mr. Sonic is taller.. and Mummy is like so tall.." she added.
