You wake up with your face on something smooth, but certainly not your bed. You open your eyes and find that it is polished wood. Confused, you stand up and realise where you are. Books the size of cars are scattered around on a wooden field that appears to be a gigantic desk. A lamp hangs overhead, towering above and glaring down at you like a spotlight on the tiny creature it has found. Empty glasses and writing pens lay scattered around your new world, but they are hidden amongst the piles and piles of books. The room beyond this desk is hard to see from your perspective, though you can tell the walls are lined with a purple wallpaper with a fancy decorative pattern - most of it, however, is hidden as most of the walls are covered in bookshelves. All of the bookshelves look fit to burst with the massive amount of books they are burdened with.
The door, seemingly miles away, clicks. Someone is coming! You quickly throw yourself behind a pile of books before the door swings open. You peek around just the slightest bit to see the giant owner of the giant desk. It is a tall man, fairly young and rather tall and skinny. His skin is a bit pale, suggesting that he doesn't see much daylight. He has purple hair that waves as he walks and his purple eyes are shaded behind his rounded glasses. He is wearing a very fancy and spotless crimson suit and equally clean black shoes. He seems to scan the room for a second and you hide behind the pile of books again. Satisfied that he is alone, he walks over and sits down at the desk, nearly making you leap back in fright as he reaches for the pile of books... and picks the one on the top, opening it and humming as he buries himself into the pages.
You're unsure what to do. You could reveal yourself but you have no idea how this man could react - he could be freaked out or hostile. You could stake it out and wait until he leaves or does something else, but you don't know how long he'll be reading (though judging by the surroundings, it might be a very long time.) Lastly, you could try and sneak away before he can find you, but it will be difficult to escape without being seen from his prowling eyes above you.
