She took all three from the top self, having to stand to her tippy toes. Which in heels is hard, something she didn't need to explain to anyone. Putting the milk next to the cake mix she would use to create a truly scrumptious cake, she kissed her kids on the cheeks; one recoiled and the other lapped it up.
Amanda pushed her trolley peacefully to the till, one of the last peaceful things she'd have for a while.
Tomorrow arrived like a snap. Being just four years old and would ultimately be unable to remember even a single event the Petersons; Amanda and her husband Dave decided to host a bit of older company. So they invited parents from daycare along with their kids, family friends, and their older children, neighborhood who they pass and exchange quick chats, but hardly knew them or their first name.
Amanda was an avid cook so enjoyed the task of making two cakes for the two parties. In addition, Dave had set aside a tea table with a tall jug of milk.
After everyone arrived and hello, hugs exchanged little groups started to form, the children and older kids devoured a huge part of their cake with youthful gusto. The adults split further one half to the cake which they dig into with more finesse, the other half gossiped amongst sips of tea.
All agreed there was a unique taste about everything they put in their mouths.
