This choice: Oddly enough, the hotel is completely vacant. None of them or people in sight. • Go Back...Chapter #5Oddly enough, the hotel is completely vacant. N... by: Zaru The trio walked up the lobby slow and alert, Hayami's eye's darting for any sign of movement. They lobby was vacant, but there was signs of carnage given the flipped over furniture and some blood marks.
"You think some of 'them' could be in here?" Asked Miku.
"Possible." Replied Hayami, both hands on his metal bat and at the ready. They walked close together, passing the lobby and towards the elevator. Hayami pressed for the up button.
"Wait, Hayami-kun, maybe going up is a bad idea." The black haired teen turned towards the nurse.
"Why's that? If there's any of them we can easily flee down here or the stairwell," said the orange haired minx. They could hear the elevator coming down. This place still had some power.
"That's the idea. If there's any of them up there, we would be walking right into them on either floor. And if there's any of them on the lobboy level..."
Hayami finished her sentence. "Then we'll be trapped..." He can fight against a few of them, but a swarm of them? They might as well punch their tickets to the River Styx...
"So...second floor or lobby level? We should have some higher ground against those monsters."
"Lobby level," said both of the girls, Miku with an uneased pitch to her voice after hearing Shizuka's explanation. Nodding, the trio walked away from the elevator and onto the hallway of the lobby level rooms. The got to the first door and tried opening but it wouldn't budged. Then Hayami hit his head.
"Duh, room key." This caused the other girls to giggle as Hayami ran down the semi-darkened hallway and into the lobby desk, seeing the lobby level room keys, he just grabbed the entire box and jogged back.
"Let's try these and-" He yawned. It was nearly 11 at night. "Get some sleep." And suddenly he heard the growls of the stomachs, from both his own and the girls.
"Yeah but we are so hungry..." moaned Miku in a voice that could not help but relax the black haired teen. And given how tight those panties are around her body he could see-
"You girls can settle in, I'll uh...grab food and supplies, like flashlights and what not," blushed Hayami as he turned his head.
"Will you be okay?" asked Shizuka in concern.
"I'll be okay. You have no need to worry about me." That was enough to reassure the nurse. Hayami gave the box to Miku.
"Use these keys to try and get inside this room and maybe others for supplies that could be laying around. I'll go out and get supplies." Hayami turned and felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned and it was Shizuka again as Miku fiddled with the keys.
"Be careful okay." She gave him one of the most beautiful smiles he has seen, and for a stressful day, it gave him reassurance and confidence.
"You got it." And he walked off, the hallway lights flickering as he walked out of the hallway and into the darkened street outside the hotel. He gave a deep breath of fresh air as he inspected the area. The moon gave him some light, and some of the light poles were still on. It was still and quiet. He remembered an old bible verse one of his teachers would drone on about...
"Even though I walk..." He began walking on the street, bat on his shoulder. Taking in some of the ruined and sacked buildings and turned over cars. There was carnage here earlier...
"through the valley of the shadow of death ," His thoughts trailed back to the girls. "I will fear no evil, for you are with me." He saw a limbering figure groaning and approaching him from the darkness...A single one of 'them'...
He gripped his bat even tighter. "your rod and your staff, they comfort me." He grabbed the metal club with both hands. "You prepare a table before me..."
And swung, bashing in a female zombie's brains out in a one swing. "in the presence of my enemies." He knelt down, as if feeling pity for the former human being. In the darkness he could make out the face of the monster, but it belonged to a pretty young woman.
"You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows," He closed the rolled over eyes of the dead zombie. And he continued his walk towards the market place.
Alone.
"Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life," He remembered the kindness in his sensei's voice, and the lust within his fellow classmate's. He stared up at the moon. The down at the road. Seeing more of 'them' slowly crawling out. There was five of them, very few. He can handle this. He must survive. For his sake, and for theirs.
"And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23. Verse 4 through 6." He ran, bat ready.
And as he took his first swing at an elderly fat zombie, he still wondered how the heck did he remembered that entire verse. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
