Chapter #7
Waking up the next morning
by: Unknown
Charlie awoke the next morning to a knocking at his door. He lifted his head to see that he was laying naked on the hardwood floor with a knocked over bottle of booze by his right hand and a wad of money in his left.
“What the?” Charlie muttered in a hungover confusion while inspecting the wad, “there’s got to be, like, two thousand dollars here”
The knocking at the door returned, followed by, “Charlie? Are you in there?”
“Oh no! It’s Susan!” He thought. “What happened last night? If I blacked out at the shop- who knows what I did after?”
“Coming,” he groaned, finding a pair of shorts near by and putting them on while grabbing a t-shirt out of the hamper on his way to the door.

Once he opened the door, Susan just looked at him quietly for a moment. Tears beginning to well up in her eyes.
“Listen,” Charlie began guiltily, “about last night-“
His apology was interrupted by Susan jumping forward and kissing him.
Did I die! Is this a dream? What’s happening?
“Oh Charlie! I had no idea! You didn’t stick around after bringing me my dress for me to tell you- I love you too! So long I’ve been hoping dreaming that you would tell me what I so desperately wanted to tell you. I’ve already called Brian and called off the wedding. I want you and I only want you.”
Charlie kissed Susan feeling like he must’ve died and gone to heaven- and if that were the case, he wouldn’t mind at all, because this was alright. This was just fine....
