"Oh, God. Spare me." you say to yourself as you see Luke. His face turns hostile when he sees you, and he walks up to you. "Look, can we make this fast? I wanna go home." you say.
"Trust me, I don't want to see you any more than you want to see me." he says. "I just came to tell you to stay away from Chloe. She's MY girlfriend!" That partially explains why she turned you down. Plus, it makes sense: Luke doesn't like humans, Chloe doesn't date humans. "Dude, she was only showing me around. Don't get your tail in a knot." you say. "Besides, I'm not even interested in her."
"And one other thing." he adds. "Whaaaaat?" you say in a frustrated voice. "What are you doing hanging around my cousin?" he asks.
"Who are you talking about?" you ask.
"Lucy! Who else?"
"Wait, Lucy is your cousin!?" you ask in disbelief. You thought that it was just a coincidence that they were both foxes and had similar names. "Yeah, she is my cousin." Luke answers. "So why are you hanging around her?"
"Well, unlike you, she finds humans to be interesting." you say.
"I always thought that she wasn't right in the head." he says.
"Besides, I think she can choose who to be around without your consent. It's not like you're her father." you say.
"Whatever, do what you want with her. I don't care." he says, turning around.
"If you didn't care, why did you bring up the subject?" you ask. Luke doesn't answer and walks away. "Prick." you think to yourself.
The rest of the week goes by smoothly. You get to know Lucy a bit more, but every once in a while, you see Chloe and Luke together, which irritates you a little bit every time. On Friday night, you walk home alone, since Ramona and Lucy left earlier than you. When you get home, you unlock the door with your key, since your parents were still at work.
