Ok, sounds easy enough. How bad can one guy's cellar be? The coffin probably just holds the bones of his dead granny or something, anyway. "I accept!" you reply "Let's go to the basement." Mr. Dragonbot leads you to a broom closet, but when he opens the door you can see that an old stone block covers a hole in the floor. You try to lift it up, but it's too heavy for your boyish arms. "Step aside, son." Dragonbot tells you. He murmers an incantation and the block turns transparent. It must have been an intangibility spell. "After you, if you please." says the shopkeeper. You climb down a short ladder into a room below.
As you reach the stone floor, Mr. Dragonbot suddenly turns the stone solid again, trapping you inside! No amount of begging and banging will open it. You're stuck down here, so you might as well look around. The hall is quite large, with rows of upright and collapsed bookshelves holding molded old books, none of which seem complete enough to read. At the end of the hall, on a stone dais, is a large black wooden coffin, with a skull etched in the front. This must be what that old trickster wanted you to look into. With nowhere else to go but forward, you walk to the coffin.
As you approach a dull violet light hums from the coffin. Cautious of this, you carefully take a few more steps forward. When you step onto the stone podium the lid of the coffin flashes brightly and disintegrates, and a figure stumbles out, hunched over. It's dressed in a maroon corset with shoulder ruffles, a shadowy black gown, and a red-studded choker. The distractingly low top reveals that the figure is obviously a woman. You are striken, and back up a bit, causing your leather shoes to clap against the stone. Her head shoots up, revealing bright orange eyes and blood-red lips set in a pale complexion. She hisses and moves incredibly quickly, grabbing you by the collar of your tunic and lifting you up against a rotting shelf. The woman smiles seductively, showing two pointed teeth for canines. She's a vampire! She whispers to you, "Thank you for freeing me from my realm, young mortal. Soon Avara shall fear my name again: Charnelle the Ancient!"
Your eyes widen, for legends tell of the wicked vampiress Charnelle, and her ways of tormenting innocents. "Now what shall I do with you, meat?" she asks seductively. Her lips on your ear tickle, and you fidget in her unnaturally strong grasp. An unholy grin forms on her face when she sees this. "Ticklish, fresh blood? It's been a while since I had a victim to tickle in my castle..." Her grip immobilizes you while she tickles you to tears with her dark red nails, which poke and squeeze your sides.
Thoughts race through your tickle-addled brain, and you come up with an idea. With one hand you summon a glowing fireball, which you recently learned from that book you found in the store. You raise up the molten ball near Charnelle's face, and she shrieks and backs away before it touches her. You need to act quickly!
