About two years after adopting Max, you decide to move yourself out of the city and into a small house on the outskirts of a forest where there is almost nobody to see Max if something goes wrong. More and more powers seem to manifest each day, but you don’t care about them as much as Max saying his first words.
His strange abilities don’t much matter to you, you love your son with all your heart, even if sometimes you wish his teething process didn’t mean him chewing through metal poles. It’s tough raising a kid without a sense of self-preservation, on account of his invulnerability. You’ve chosen to dissuade him from touching exposed electrical wires or trying to see how long he can breathe underwater in the bath.
You’ve noticed Max has begun exercising his powers more. You often see him out in the yard playing with his superpowers, blowing hurricane-force winds or using laser vision to chop up firewood. He’s learning to use them more intentionally instead of by instinct. It does make you wonder - just what will he be able to accomplish once he’s fully grown?
