You're surprised at how well your spaghetti came out.
Suddenly, you were a natural? Weird. Oh well. You had all kinds of confidence. You were organized, prepared, and, dang, you looked great! You definitely stuck out in the family, because no one else dressed up. Mark was in his casual attire, Erika wore her usual rebel style, Kyle was wearing a white T-shirt and jeans, and your mother in your body, well, she was no where to be found. You didn't mind for some reason.
*Ding-Dong*
"OOOO! That's her! Everyone be polite!" You weren't used to being this bossy. But, it came natural for some reason.
You open the door in a rush.
"Hey Mrs. Schroeder! Thanks for having me over! Woah, you look amazing!" Jessica says with a big grin.
"Oh, don't make me blush. Please come on in! Sit down, everything's ready!" You say, with your confidence flowing through you.
Jessica walks in, and she follows you to the dining room. "Wow! This looks great. You did all this for me?" Jessica says,
"I sure did! I wanted to make a good impression!"
Your family was already sitting down, with big smiles, and they all introduce themselves.
Jessica sits down, and you follow close behind. Jessica was very social with everyone at the table, asking about interests, hobbies, and even telling stories. You laughed, and chatted, and even gossiped a little. You felt like... your mom, and it felt soothing. It felt soothing to make acquaintance with a nice young lady. Although you knew it felt weird, you didn't acknowledge much. You just looked over it. After dinner, your family all went their separate ways, but you and Jessica remained seated.
Something was different. You felt differently towards Jessica. She didn't feel like a crush, she felt like a daughter. She felt like a close friend. You didn't have any intention of trying to lure her towards you. You just wanted to impress her a feminine way.
"Oh, no," you thought. You knew something was wrong, and you finally realized it. The cooking, the dress, everything. It was all done like your mother would've done it. You were thinking like your mother. You forgot to get out of her body! You check the clock, and it reads 9.
"Jessica, it looks like it's getting late, your parents must be worrying," you say trying to get her to leave.
"Ah, I guess so," she says as she begins to get up.
You rush her towards the door. As you open it, Jessica turns and says, "I think you're a really gre---." You close the door on her. You didn't even realize what you did. You think if you go to bed, you'll sleep off these thoughts, just like your mother would assume. You lay down in bed, and soon fall asleep.
~Morning~
You wake up feeling more like yourself. You were right, you just needed some rest. You start to feel bad for slamming the door on Jessica. And, to make matters worse, it was Monday! You had to either swap back with your old self, or go to work as your mother.
You walk into your room, expecting to see your body, but notice that your mother was still no where to be found. But, you notice a small machine on your desk. You pick it up, and realize that it is a mini body swap machine! That can come in handy, so you decide to take it to your mother's job at the middle school. YOu get dressed, naturally knowing what to wear, and leave for work..
