He shrinks down instead!

    by: choleric Author IconMail Icon
With deep, guttural laughter, the roo revelled in his growing glory as the energy from the size ray rushed into him again. He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as he savoured the feeling... but noticed something odd. As Marcus opened his eyes to view the prize that was his city, his new plaything, he saw that it was growing around him... or perhaps he was shrinking.
“Aw, fuck.” rumbled the giant roo, feeling distinctly nauseous as he withered back down to a more appropriate size. “Tyler, David, you better not be thinking about picking that ray back up...”

Unfortunately, the aforementioned purple drake was already clutching the silvery ray in his claws, dashing madly away from the giant with his bigger brother in tow. Though he was shrinking, he still had 80 foot in height to lord over the two, who rapidly disappeared behind a neighbourhood house.
“COME OUT TO PLAY, FUCKERS!” snarled the roo, barging through the house in a storm of dust and debris, spotting the blue and purple specks against the green of the lawn before they were obscured by the battle scars. Now at sixty feet tall, Marcus was beginning to lose the advantage of his lofty viewpoint, but powerful paws bounded in the direction of the brothers.

“Tyler, next time you get a fucking size ray, can you just keep it to yourself?” snarled David, tackling Tyler out of the way of a massive furred footpaw as it slammed into the dirt beside them. The roo growled like a chainsaw, his booming voice heard all over the neighbourhood. “If you want to be a big guy, just get some stilts, or a hot air balloon, maybe do some crunches, just something that doesn’t threaten our lives!”
“Not the time, David!” snapped Tyler, pointing a clawed finger at the incoming marsupial, who had spotted the pair scampering beneath his titanic toes. With a loud thud, Marcus’ heavy paws slapped down either side of the brothers, and he looked down at the pair from over a set of imposing organs dangling over their heads.
“If you know what’s good for you, you’ll hit me with that growth ray again. NOW!” roared Marcus, reaching a hand down to trap Tyler and David. The two dragons ducked and weaved between the rapidly diminishing paws, as Marcus shrank down to the much more manageable size of thirty feet. His large tail whipped out as the drakes ran behind him, lashing at Tyler and tripping him face-first into the dirt, size ray spilling from his arms and landing softly on the grass.

“Tyler!” cried David, bracing himself as he interposed himself between the looming roo and his brother lying prone on the ground. Marcus lingered at an imposing ten feet, launching himself bodily at the sizeable dragon and slamming him out of the way with his sheer bulk. With a groan, the dragon picked himself up and nursed an injured arm, charging after Marcus as he bent down to scoop up the size ray, face lighting up with a wicked grin as he began to turn it on himself. Matched for height with the cobalt dragon bearing down on him, delight turned to shock as a muscular arm reached out to grab at the silvery device, beginning a tug of war between the two football players. Neither quite able to overpower the other, the two were deadlocked until out of the blue, Tyler leapt screaming at the size ray, grasping it clumsily and dragging it to the ground with him with a sickening crunch. All three anthros stared at the broken ray as a blast of red energy illuminated the devastated lawn, craterous kangaroo pawprints marking Marcus’ passing and bits of house decorating the lawn. As the red beam washed over the assembled crowd...
