Sera frowned for a moment as she tried to recall the exact day her husband went missing. "Here, right at the doorway. He had just got back from his job and left to pick up a friend of his for a night of drinking and partying. They were going to watch a movie at the new theater about 20 miles up the road after getting a few drinks at Vultures's Rest. I expected him to be gone for most of the night, but when he didn't come back the day after I started to worry."
You frown as you memorized the addresses and directions Sera gave you. "Not much to go on, but I can work with this." you note as you withdraw a tiny notebook from your pocket and write a few things down. "Can you give me any details that people might recognize? His license plate number, their clothes, the model of vehicle they were driving, things like that?" Sera thought for a few seconds as she desperately tried to remember everything she could. "I don't remember much, but I do recall a few things."
"Both of them were clean shaven and were wearing jackets. Hank had his black cowboy hat on, the one with the tiny tear near the back. I didn't see what they left in, but I think Robert was driving his sportscar, the new blue one he got a few months back. I don't know the model or license plate, but it has these bright green flames painted on both sides. It should be easy to identify." she continued as you took more notes. The picture was starting to come together a little now.
"Okay, this really helps, can you tell me what time they left? Try to be as exact as possible." you ask as you write down some addresses of local car mechanics and auto shops in the area you had looked up before arriving. "I've got a pretty good idea of how we can identify where they went, I just need a good time frame and I can get started." Sera rubbed her head as she tried desperately to recall when she last saw her husbands smiling face.
"It was fairly late, probably before nine but after seven. I was in the middle of watching a show, so it was likely about seven or eight thirty. Oh god, I wish I could remember more... I should be able to remember more." she said as a few fresh tears formed in her eyes. You took a moment to calm her down and finished writing the last few clues she could give you. After looking over your notes to make sure everything was right you asked Sera to double check everything she had given you. It was all accurate.
"Okay, I think I can get the ball rolling now. Thank you Sera, I'll do everything I can to find Hank." you say with a smile as you pocket the notebook and stand up. "Now that that's done I'll have a beer or two if you don't mind. You might want to have one yourself. It'll help with the stress a bit." She nodded and headed over to the kitchen to grab the drinks from the fridge while you checked in with your driver. After about twenty minutes of talking a jeep pulled up in the driveway outside and honked its horn once to signify its arrival.
"That's my ride, I'll see you when I have an update. Take care of yourself Sera." you say as you crush your empty beer can and toss it into the nearby trashcan. "Thank you Jeff, be careful out there." Sera called from the kitchen as you stepped outside into the cool evening air and waved goodbye from the door way. In less than five minutes you'd be back on the road heading to your first stop...
