Avaradex was a mercenary that meant people had to hire him all the time. This was the foundation for your plan. You made some inquires and passed the message that you wanted to meet Avaradex and discuss a possible job. The meeting location was at an abandoned warehouse.
The ground was prepared with a massive amounts of explosions. You had carefully placed bubbles of magic around them disguising their scent and hiding them from view. They were out of direct line of sight however who knows what kind of vision a half dragon could have. You were also not going to meet with the creature in person, instead you were going to use astral projection to appear to be within the warehouse. Your real self would be nearby hidden under your best veil.
Avaradex arrived with a cadre of ghouls. You smile as he sniffs the air.
"You wished to meet in person for a lucrative job and then don't show up," he scowls at your projection.
You smile in response, "Lord Avaradex your strength is known throughout the world and I feared for my own safety if you disliked my terms."
He growled, "What are your terms. If you have wasted my time I will rend you into pieces."
Your projection smiles and then the warehouse explodes. The ghouls are instantly incinerated. Avaradex is not so easily defeated however. The flames tear through his clothing but do not harm his skin. The concussive force does do extensive damage to his body. His own magic rapidly tries to counter the damage but it is overwhelming.
He is thrown forcefully out of the warehouse and slams through a brill wall obliterating it. You pounce ready to unleash deadly magics on him. With fire not being as effective you lash out with a narrow blast of force. It is narrow to allow for a slicing effect. Avaradex is stunned by the explosion and attack but his innate magic conjures a shield of magic to blunt your attack.
Since he had not had time to fully gather his energy your attack bleeds through but instead of slicing him in two it just cuts into his scaly skin a few inches. He roars in pain and spits fire at you. Using Kinectomancy you dodge the flames and let loose with a blast of electrical energy. Avaradex is electrocuted, this was a lethal dosage. It would have killed any human half a dozen times over but for someone of his power it merely stunned him. That was fine however because that gave you all the time you needed to gather pure energy at the tip of your staff and then use Kinectomancy and magic to strengthen your arms. Your staff smashes into his torso like a spear. The destructive energy at the tip rips through scales like they were tissues.
Your staff spears through his heart and black blood vomits out of his mouth. The blood is acidic and you curse as your flesh wards dim down by a third. The acid must have been incredibly potent to have such an effect. Luckily for you the battle is over and Avaradex is no more. You carefully use your magic to slice of his head and seal it.
Now it was time to show your prize to the most beautiful woman in all the earth.
