Jimmy was too curious to wait, so he plugged the strange USB drive into his computer. A window popped up showing that a single file was contained in it: "BIGGER.MP3." What was really odd about it, though, is that it was only 20 seconds long. A flashing light on his computer screen indicated that the song was ending soon, so he flipped back to the playlist.
After cuing up the next song, Jimmy turned his attention back to the file. His headphones on, he opened it in a sound-editing program, and saw that sound's wave form was a repeating pattern of two peaks followed by a short silence. Making sure to isolate the program from the DJ feed, he pressed play.
WHOOM-WHOOM...WHOOM-WHOOM...WHOOM-WHOOM...
It had the rhythm of a heartbeat, but the beats were a weird, electronic pulse that seemed to bury itself inside his body and left him feeling dizzy. After the sample was done playing, he slowly took the headphones off and shook his head. His chest began to feel a little tight, and he started to worry until he realized that it WAS Chest Day at the gym this morning, so it must be just a residual ache.
He cued up another song, and the pain returned, this time more intense. What was that sound supposed to be? Did it do something to him? Maybe he should get somebody else to listen to it...
