After class, April meets with Ms. Polluck

"Well, that wasn't so bad," April thought to herself as she made her way to Ms. Polluck's office. It was a bit odd that most of the students in that sophomore class ranged from chubby to downright obese, but she chalked that up to coincidence. What mattered more was that they were attentive - save for the intermittent crinkling of snacks being opened - and well-behaved.

The door to the headmistress's office was already open, but April knocked anyway out of politeness.

"Come in!"
"Hi, Ms. Polluck," April said as she entered, "thanks for having me."
"Oh it's nothing - please, call me Shannon and take a seat. And a sweet!" Ms. Polluck, a plump blonde in her mid-thirties with her hair in a bun, gestured to a large bowl of butterscotch candies on the table between them.
"Oh! Thanks!" said April, reaching for one. And then another.
"So how are you finding things so far?"
"Oh, it's good! The students are great and everyone's super nice! I feel like I fit right in here," she beamed, not stopping to grab another candy.
"That's great news! We can catch up again later on and see how you're finding things after some time. And just so you know, we have our welcome staff party after dinner later. It would be wonderful to have you there!"
"I'd love to go! Thanks Ms. Poll- er, Shannon!"

April smiled and left to do some admin work in her office. Unbeknownst to her, she ate about a dozen butterscotch candies in that brief meeting, but didn't feel any fuller. It was only a tiny bit, after all.
