Tom slumped and groaned. This woman was being impossible. Not only that, she didn't seem to express any emotion which really confused the teenager. Was she playing a prank on him or was she absolutely serious? He couldn't tell.
He rolled his eyes and then took the mysterious black box from the woman's hands. He stared at her for a moment but she simply stared back, apparently awaiting for him to open it.
With a sigh, he relented and looked down at the box. If this was some kind of stupid joke, he hoped she would get her laugh because from the looks of it, she seriously needed it. As for him, he'd go on about his day and forget this strange meeting.
Slowly, he opened the cap of the black box and it slid out easily. Then, he saw...
Nothing. Nothing but emptiness.
As he looked back up. He spoke. "Ha ha...very funny. Now if you would exc-"
Tom stopped himself and blinked. Ore-what-was-her-name was gone. He quickly looked to the sides of him and didn't see any retreating hooded figure. There was no way any person could be that fast at disappearing. There wasn't a chuckle or a peep from her when he opened the box. Could she have left before that?
This was getting all too weird and Tom was seriously being creeped out. Whatever her goal was, apparently giving him an empty black box was it. He couldn't understand it and what it could possibly mean. it was a freakin' empty black box!
Tom pinched the bridge of his nose and let out a sigh. Any passerby looked at him with a raised eyebrow wondering what this teenager student was getting frustrated or upset at.
The boy frowned and wondered what he should do with the empty black box.
