During school, something was increasingly bugging Tom. As the day went by and he moved into different classes, the black box that he decided to keep suddenly kept poking him in his brain. He couldn't stop thinking about the damn thing!
Why did he keep thinking about a black box that he knew held nothing in it? Why did he decide to keep it? Why did that strange white-haired woman give it to him!? Nothing made sense and it was driving him mad! He had to know what was going on!
During the middle between his last class and previous class, he decided he couldn't take it anymore and had to take a second look at the box. He had to make sure that there wasn't anything special even though there clearly wasn't anything in it. Pulling it out of his backpack amiss the crowds of students that flooded the hallway, chatting or moving to their last class, he became a little surprised.
When he got the black box, it was the size of his hands and was clearly portable. He was either imagining things or he was a complete fool because the black box outstretched his hands by two or three inches. It could still fit into his backpack, but it was less portable now. Surely, he was imagining things because it's not like a box could stretch or grow on its own.
He gulped. Something in the back of his head told him not to open the box. He wasn't sure why since the box was clearly empty. Shaking it, he confirmed to himself that nothing was in it. Finally, to appease his mind which constantly thought of the damnable box, he opened it.
Black.
Just as he figured, it was empty. Just like before. No change indeed...though the size could be in question.
"Tom!"
