This choice: On the train, the real Twilight repeats the princess's offer. • Go Back...Chapter #9That moment when you're asked to join a harem by: Unknown Meanwhile, in a train halfway between Canterlot and Ponyville, five ponies were exchanging concerned looks as they watched their friend cast various enchantments on the car they were riding. All they knew is that Twilight had 'something to tell them', and had been casting privacy spells and muttering the entire trip so far.
"...Alright, enough is enough! Twilight, you've soundproofed this place, covered up the windows, sealed off the doors to keep the other sleeping ponies out, checked five times for scrying spells, took away anything we could write with, next you'll be brainwashing everypony on the train into forgetting the trip!"
"Oh, good thinking, Rainbow! It'll be just a few-" Twilight then noticed the looks she was being given. "Er... maybe we're ready enough. Wait, shouldn't we make this room teleport-resistant?" The stares persisted. "I, uh, suppose you've waited long enough. It's just so... well..." Rarity walked up to her, putting a hoof across Twilight's shoulders. "Twilight, dear, you can confide in us. Whatever happened to you at the celebration, we can assure you word of it will not leave this place. Right, girls?"
The assuring agreements and nods were enough to loosen Twilight's lips. "...Okay. But I'm sure you'll be able to appreciate the secrecy. You see, Celestia took me away from the party to tell me..."

Not even the chugging of the train made it past the soundproofing spell, leaving complete silence in the wake of the bombshell Twilight dropped. The first to actually collect her thoughts and speak was Applejack.
"Boy howdy, that's... quite the offer there. You're sure that's what she said?" Twilight nodded, "To the letter." Pinkie took the opportunity to whisper to the stunned cowpony, "I told you the princess was into you." Rarity was unreadable, perhaps even she herself didn't know what she thought. "So, you're saying that the princess... Princess Celestia is... interested in us? All six of us? ...At once?"
Fluttershy was visibly sweating as she decided it would be a good idea to forgo any and all eye contact forever. Rainbow Dash, oddly enough, seemed to have a look of serious contemplation. "So, immortality, huh?" Rainbow slipped back into her own thoughts, letting out the occasional 'Hmm.' Twilight decided to wrap up her speech for the night, "She's expecting an answer sometime next week. I suggest you all seriously consider your options, regardless of how you feel right now."
Yawning, Applejack added, "Twi has a point. It'd be good to sleep on this one. Ah'll try to have an answer by Saturday." At the mention of sleep, the ponies came to an unspoken agreement that if there was anything else to say, it could wait until at least morning. Soon enough, they had retired to their bunks.
...Except for Twilight, who had a fun night of dispelling her countless security measures.

As the week passed, Twilight listened carefully to everything her friends had to say. Deep down, her own mind was already made up; she'd love nothing more than to spend her days with the wonderful mare that guided the sun. She just hoped the others would come along, the thought of leaving them all behind for one pony's pleasure didn't quite sit well with her.
The weekend came, and it looked like the other five saviors of Equestria were... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
