As you shuffle through the pile you can’t find anything of real value to you. And all the board games seem boring as you would only be able to play with your sister or parents as your friends didn’t enjoy board games at all.

About to abandon hope and move on you remember it is your cousin Ambers birthday on Thursday this week. Your family was going to go out to dinner at her favorite pizza place to celebrate and you have yet to get her a gift yourself, thinking that is very un-cool to just sign a card connecting you to a family gift you decide to find something she might like here.

As you dig through the toy box you find something it feels almost metal and the tip has a heart shape decoration as you pull it out of the toy box you notice it was bright red with many definitely “girly” designs embedded into it. The top decoration was what looked like a plastic jem in the shape of a heart with a couple outer rings that were gold panted metal it looked like. There was also some tiny engraved writing on the handle that you decided not to read just yet as you were just looking at the quality for now.

It looked kind of familiar as you stare at it you remember what it looks like. It was similar to the magic girl wands for the old anime shows you saw on TV when you were young. Thinking this was perfect as Amber was really in to a magic girl phase where she was always pretending she was out saving the world from evil with love or something like that.

You smile and walk over to the man in charge of this garage sale and say “hi, how much for this?” gesturing to the wand in your hand.

He looks at it then skeptically back at you.

You get kinda embarrassed and stammer out “it’s a gift for my little cousin.”

She shrugs and says “sure it is, how about $5?”

You sigh at him not believing you and say “sure” handing him the money your mom gave you.

Once you bought it you walk over to your mom who had her hands full of bargain junk that she would probably never use again after the first week, and waited for her to finish up.
