Evan realized he wasn't completely immune to the effects of his power. Despite knowing Mark wasn't really his girlfriend, he still found his body getting excited in the same way it used to if Amy suggested something like this.
Mark said they should go see a movie, but unlike the sort of stuff Amy might want to see, Mark wanted to see an action flick. Evan began to think this could actually be pretty cool.
And so after school, the two headed to the movies together. Mark nuzzled up close to Evan; Evan put his arm around Mark; they began to watch the movie. Both sets of eyes were glued to the screen during the action parts, but for more plot and dialog heavy scenes, Mark and Evan made out.
Evan kept trying to tell himself that Mark wasn't really his girlfriend. In the back of his mind, Evan knew he wasn't. And yet it was hard to internalize that right now. It felt just as normal kissing Mark now as it had felt kissing Amy a few days ago. In fact, Evan started to be a little disgusted by the thought of swapping them back. Did he really want to do this sort of making out with Amy? It felt gross. Funny, but gross. And he knew that was how he felt about Mark just a short while ago, yet it was hard to think of that right now.
"Next time, maybe we watch the movie at my place," Evan whispered to Mark.
