You could make Daniel and Jane think they are toddlers, but then they wouldn't suffer. What fun would that be? So you decided to give them different instructions. You hypnotized Daniel first, "Daniel you may not be a toddler but you know that Jane is. When ever you stand up to walk, you will get dizzy as if you twirled around twenty time. You can only walk if someone is holding your hand. It feels like your hands are in mittens which have very slippery grips. When you get frustrated all you can do is suck your thumb or cry. You can't shout or kick or do anything destructive." They you think, Daniel will probably fall on his butt if he tried to walk and will have to crawl instead. His hands are also useless, it'll be like he is a toddler without saying he is. Then you gave Jane the same instructions.
The effect was instantaneous as they both fell to the floor and couldn't get up. Not wanting to feel helpless they did start crawling around. Daniel made his way to the phone, but he couldn't dial it or hold the handset for long. To calm himself he started to suck his thumb.. Jane saw this, but she thought that Daniel was a toddler anyway so it didn't seem that unusual. Jane also fell on the floor so she crawled to the door. But she couldn't get a grip on the handle to get it opened. When Jane realized she was stuck, she started to cry.
This was going to work out fine. Then you got an idea. You called your mom on her cell phone. You reminded her that she'll need to get other things besides diapers. She should get bibs, sippy cups, toddler toys and everything else she would need. Then you told her, she should also get some bubble bath for when she has to bathe them. Since mom thinks they are both toddlers, you wondered if mom would bathe them separately or both at the same time to save time. You weren't sure, maybe she would, maybe not. Who knows, mom might even get some baby food for them. Who knows what mom will think of.
