"Finally, a break!" Ed exclaimed in relief, though to no one in particular, as he was currently wandering through his hometown of Resembool, alone as Al had opted to stay in the house with Winry while Ed went out on his walk.
He was enjoying the pleasant autumn breeze as he wandered through the outskirts of the village in a red t-shirt and a pair of tan pants instead of his usual cloak. His stomach soon reminded him that it was about lunch time, and he hadn't eaten much for breakfast.
"Maybe I should get somethin' to eat." He thought, as his stomach growled even louder, showing Ed that he was downright starving. Soon enough, he was making his way to the center of the village. This was because there was a fall festival in the village today, which was one of the reasons that the Elric brothers were relaxing here in the first place.
"This is great!" Ed thought, "The festival will have plenty of cheap food, and I've saved up a ton of money. It's been a while since I really ate a good meal." He soon arrived at the festival site, ready to feast on some of his favorite foods as a child.
Soon, he was at the first food stand, which sold smoked turkey legs. Soon, Ed had two gargantuan legs, one in each hand, and he tore through them gleefully, enjoying the nostalgic flavors. Those two were enough to fill up Ed's stomach, but he was nowhere near done.
He bought two more turkey legs, munching on them as he made his way to the next food stand. His stomach was now protruding outwards ever so slightly as he finished the second turkey leg, getting out money to pay for his next snack.
He then discarded the bone, which was completely clean, before grabbing the next portion of carnival cuisine, which happened to be a plate with five funnel cakes stacked on top of each other.
As he was hungry, and excited to taste the next flavors, Ed picked up all five funnel cakes at the same time, opening his mouth as much as possible to take a massive bite that caused his cheeks to bulge. He chewed through the funnel cake gleefully, as a young child would, and soon the bite disappeared down his gullet.
He was walking over to another food stand, with the final bites of funnel cake disappearing in his mouth, resting his his stomach, which bulged quite noticeably now, barely starting to push on his t-shirt.
