Chapter #5

Moving Day

by: Bikalœr Efedrikós Author IconMail Icon
You sighed, looking around at how dilapidated your hideout had become over the years. Wires were coming through the walls, pipes were leaking and floorboards were coming up. You’d spent the last four years in the hideout with your Digimon Partner, Patamon, whom you rescued from a horde of Impmon. Since then, Patamon was assisting you with reconnaissance, spying on the Digital World and its inhabitants. You gave up on the Human World a long time ago, and when you finally had the opportunity to leave, you took it without a second-thought.

You didn’t regret it one bit.

"Patamon!" you called, and sure enough, your Digimon Partner came flying in.

"Yes, Mistress, what is it?" he asked with a smile. Though the two of you weren’t connected by Digivice, you still had an incredibly strong bond. Patamon would always follow your orders without question, and you treated him with kindness and respect in return. He was after all, the only friend you had.

"I think it’s time that we leave here," you told him, "this place is getting less and less livable by the day, and after last week’s raid, I don’t think this area’s safe anymore."

"But Mistress, are you sure you want to leave now? The Royal Knights are patrolling the area. It might be best if we wait a little while. I can check every now and then to see when the coast is clear."

"Alright," you nodded, "if you can do that for me, I’ll start packing our things. At the latest, we should be out of here by tomorrow."

"Yes, Mistress." Patamon smiled, leaving the hideout to go and keep watch. You looked around the room, sighing once more.

"So many memories of this place… it actually feels like a shame to leave…"

It didn’t take you much time at all to pack your things, not that you could take it all with you. Your bed and the rest of the furniture you had ‘acquired’ were too heavy for you to carry by yourself, and Patamon couldn’t carry much more than his body weight.

Speaking of Patamon, he had come in periodically to tell you that the Royal Knights were still patrolling the area, but as the sun was starting to set over the land, you realized that Patamon had not yet returned.

You put a curled finger to your lips, wondering if you should go out and look for Patamon, or stay put in the hideout until he returns.

You have the following choices:

*Pen*
1. Go out and look for Patamon

*Pen*
2. Stay in the hideout and hope he returns soon

*Pen* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
