Daddy Duty

    by: Stella Author IconMail Icon
"Peter, I'm going to the mall to get new baby clothes for Meg. I should be back in a few hours. Can you babysit?" Lois said. "Yeah. Sure." Peter said. "Ok. I'll be back by four." Lois said, leaving.
Peter was feeding Meg a bottle when Lois got home. "Aw." she said, walking upstairs.
Lois was moving Stewie's old crib and changing table into Meg's room, and Meg's bed into Stewie's room. Stewie painted it black and Lois went to start making dinner. "Peter, can you go change Meg's diaper before dinner?" Lois asked from the kitchen. "Yeah, alright." Peter said. He picked Meg up from her swing and walked upstairs. Lois was setting the table when Peter walked back in. "Where's Meg? Did you change her diaper like I asked?" Lois asked. "Well, I started to, but she just kept going and going, so it was really full and then I wanted Kool Aid." Peter said. Stewie walked in, carrying Meg. "She's good." he said. "Thank you, Stewie." Lois said, taking Meg. Stewie looked at Peter. "Next time, just do us a favor and change your own kid's diaper." he said.
That night, after dinner, Lois was feeding Meg in her room. "I love you, sweetheart." Lois said. Meg looked up at her mother with bright eyes and reached up her hands to touch Lois's face. Lois smiled. Meg finished her bottle and Lois put her up to her shoulder to burp her. When Meg burped, Lois stood. "Ok Meg, it's time for bed." she said. Lois changed Meg into a pair of footies and put her in her bassinet. "Goodnight sweetheart. I love you." Lois said, kissing Meg's forehead. Lois left quietly and went back downstairs.
"Aw, Peter, you should see Meg. She looks like such a little angel." Lois said. Peter went upstairs silently and looked in at Meg.
"She looked so peaceful." Peter said. "Looked?" Lois asked. "Yeah. Looked." Peter answered. "What do you mean?"Lois asked. Meg started crying. "Peter, what did you do?!" Lois said, running upstairs. She ran into her and Peter's room, where Meg's bassinet was, and picked up her baby. "Meg, sweetie, what's wrong? Did daddy scare you?" Lois asked. She rubbed Meg's back to calm her and rocked her. Meg stopped crying after another couple minutes and Lois kissed her cheek. She put Meg back in her bassinet and she fell asleep.
The next morning, Lois woke up to see Meg still asleep. She walked to the bathroom to get dressed and ready for the day. By the time Lois was done, Meg had waken up. Lois picked her up and Meg smiled. Lois changed Meg and took her downstairs to feed her.
Stewie was jamming to heavy metal with headphones in. Chris was still trying to process if he was actually a ghost or not. And Brian was writing. Lois was feeding Meg her bottle, talking to her. Peter slid down the railing slowly, singing. "Peter, don't slide on the railing." Brian said. "Why?" Peter asked. "Because you'll break it." Brian said.
"Guys, I'm going to a baby shower with Bonnie and I need someone to babysit Meg." Lois said.
"I'll do it." said
