As soon as my butt touch the chair, i grab the mug in front of me and drink most of it's content in fast, big gulps. I then put the mug down and stare at the person in front of me, expecting to see him transform in some sort of monster before my very eyes.....nothing, maybe the poisoning is not as bad as i had feared.
The caravan master place a small bag of coin on the table, then it start to look at me with an unnerving smile: "Well i see that you have met Karathiana, and despite the surprise you kept your cool, most human scream or draw the sword the first time that meet a dragon" My eyes widen...does those damn mushroom causing me auditory hallucination as well?! Damn it, i need an healer, a good one too...
"What...eh, did you tell Karat...ka dammit! What kind of parents give a daughter such unpronounceable name!"
He start to laugh "Well a dragon parents obviously.." Yeah son of a b....DRAGON!?
"Sorry, i....haven't heard you correctly, i am afraid that the mushroom i have used for seasoning the soup wasn't edible, so.."
He laugh even harder, then after a few seconds he calm down: "Mushroom? Do you think that the dragon you just saw is an hallucination?" He chuckle "No my friend, she is a genuine dragoness, in the flash, and she seems interested in you...perhaps she invite you to dinner?"

He chuckle yet again: "Why yes! She is an usual here, and from what i know, she is quite...interested in human if you know what i mean...." No, i Certainly Don't Know what You mean, and i am pretty sure that i don't want to know either
"Bur dragon are evil! They attack human without reason! Eat..." He interrupt me: "Yeah i know, not here tough, you see on this continent dragon are not particularly aggressive, yes the city hunters had to put down a few too...excitable individual, but usually thy don't bother nor attack human, on the contrary some of them are good customer, they seems to like exotic things most, probably because if they try to get out of this region the slayers will try to kill them on the spot, you know the usual fanatics ^purify the unholy beasts^ and bullshit like that"
I am quite confused "You mean that..she? won't try to eat me?"
His smirk start to encompass his whole face, seriously: "Well, it depend what do you mean by ^eating^...hehehe but no, some others outside the city walls may try tough so stay on guard at all times, also while i know Karathiana reputation and she shouldn't do anything harmful to anyone, it's better be ready for anything anyway, better safe then sorry, don't trust them more then necessary and don't attack them on sight, also there is another things....yeah"
Like i am not surprised enough "I had already quite the scare here thank you"
His smile vanish replaced by a serious tone: "You should know that dragon are magical creature my friend, and they are...attracted to it, that includes human spell casters has well, don't be surprised if you hear about interspecies couple or in some very rare case, even marriage, while not common it's a thing that happen around here, and i have the feeling that Karathiana has taken a certain..interest towards you"
.....ooooooookeeey "That..kind of interest?" he reply "Yes, it may very well be"
I am a little off right now, i would never had thought that..hoho, that Karasomething is staring at me....shit i must leave, now, if i had knew about this mess of a city before..
Cm: "Here" he push the small bags towards me "This is the bonus i have promised you, i will also give you good references" he pause a moment "IF, you wish to seek job in this admittedly curious region, if you need to know where to go, just ask the innkeeper he will tell you where the job master is located, now if you excuse me i must go at the market square to prepare for the afternoon opening, and good luck as well"
Now what? I..need to clear my mind first, perhaps a good rest...no i am too nervous for sleeping, maybe a visit at the market then, or the job master could help me to put things in prospective
