"No, dummy, bigger books for the base." Mary instructed, forcing another thick book another few inches. "Left, left, stop. A little to the right, a little more, okay!" She smiled lightly as her brother, nearly doing most of the grunt work, panted heavily. Mary stepped backwards eyeing her architectural achievement, but instead she was greeted by books scattered sloppily on their backs.
"We need Wendy's help if we're going to get anything done." Jamie stated blandly. Mary simply nodded in assent as the two made their way across the massive counter to the corner, where Wendy and her coworker Bridgette were conversing about their favorite shows, books, et cetera. Wendy was bent over the counter, balancing on her forearms as she leaned forward to show interest in her friend's speech.
Taking charge, Jamie knocked against his giant sister's arms, hoping to get her attention, but his attempts only worked when Mary contributed to catching Wendy's focus. Feeling a slight, rhythmic tapping on her side, Wendy turned to see the shrunken duo waving up to her. She carefully lifted them up and brought them closer to her and Bridgette.
"What's up?"
"We kind of need help with our fort," answered Mary, pointing to the scattered books on the counter.
"Oh, yeah, I can definitely help out with that," she said as she walked towards the fort, here two strides reaching the books, which took the twins five minutes to traverse on their own.
Wendy, with help from Bridgette and small contributions from Jamie and Mary, set up a small, castle-like structure as it was an empty rectangle with book spires on the four corners. From Wendy's view it was a simple building, but to the twins, it was a large room with many illustrated covers surrounding them like the finest paintings one would display in their homes.
"And for the finishing touches," Wendy said while reaching into her pockets. The redhead pulled out her slim phone and unlocked it, placing it in against the wall. The giant sister selected an animated movie, and let it play for the twins to be entertained. Wendy begins to step away but not before discussing a small lecture on staying out of trouble.
