Chapter #7
Staccato Shrinkage
by: Unknown
What Tyler didn't know, what he could only have known had he watched how some of the items he'd shrunk at first were occasionally getting smaller in fits and bursts, was that the damaged shrinking ray had lingering effects. The energy stored itself in the mass of the target and, depending on how much there ways, would randomly surge and flux, triggering further changes.
Maybe it wouldn't have mattered. Maybe his desire to get even with his big brother was too advanced. Either way, as soon as David came through the door -all 7'3" of him- Tyler fired the ray gun.
Ducking through the kitchen door, he zapped David square in the chest and kept the trigger pressed. The green glow expanded around his collossal brother and, like the chair and other test subjects before, then enwrapped him and started pulling inwards.
"What th'...?"
David's dialogue was cut short as a strange sensation went through him.
It felt like he was falling but his feet stayed planted on the floor. Still, the floor seemed to be shifting slightly ... as if the carpet of the living room was snaking out from under his feet in every direction. He got dizzy. Looking around, the room seemed to be spinning: the ceiling getting farther away and the walls drawing back from him. Everything was awash in a green glow.
Tyler's smile grew wider and wider as he poured more and more energy into his once-bigger brother. Seven feet came and went, soon to be followed by six. Tyler kept the energy pouring on as he shrank his brother to his own height and, then, further.
Soon, the once titanic blue dragon was waist-high to Tyler's purple hide and the once-littler dragon stopped the beam.
"Now who's the little brother?" he boomed with gleeful laughter.
