This choice: "... let your body transcend its limits and grow." • Go Back...Chapter #6Only through us by: Unknown "... let your body transcend its limits and grow. Do you understand, Rouge?"
"Yes..." Rouge answered in a hushed voice.
"Then tell us what you must do."
"First, I must visit you every night," she droned. "Second, I must let my body transcend its limits and grow."
"Yes, Rouge, that is correct. True perfection can only be attained through our guidance, which is the only way your body can ever hope to become the epitome of sensuality. Only through us can you grow beyond your limits. Only through us will your deepest desires be made a reality. Only through us, Rouge, only through us."
"Only through you..." Rouge said, her flat tone carrying an underlying hint of reverence.
"No, Rouge. There is no longer any 'you or 'I' here, only 'us.' These goals we have can be achieved only through us."
"Only through... us..." Her eyes flashed a deep red for the briefest of moments. "No 'you' or 'I' here, only 'us.'"
"Very good, Rouge. We shall continue from here tomorrow night. Until then, rest easy and bid farewell to this old life. Good night, Rouge."
"Good... night..." No sooner had the words left her mouth when Rouge suddenly felt sleep take hold of her. She went out like a light, not even getting a chance to notice the TV turn off by itself.
------
Rouge groaned as she slowly woke up. She groaned again when, after a few seconds of blankly staring off into space, she noticed it was the middle of the day. A glance at the clock behind her gave her the time: 1:26 PM. Way too early (or would it be late?) for her to be awake.
"Might as well brush my teeth or something," Rouge grumbled. Slowly, she got up on her feet and trudged towards the bathroom.
Once there, a glance in the mirror stopped Rouge in her tracks. Nothing about her had changed, but she couldn't help but look at her reflection. Resting a hand on her hip, she flashed herself a seductive smirk. The smirk quickly vanished. It seemed... inadequate, somehow. She turned to face the mirror head-on, folded her arms under her breasts, and bent forward. Still not good enough. Rouge huffed. Why was she so critical of herself all of a sudden? It wasn't like she was perfect. Beautiful, definitely, but not necessarily perfect.
But I could be.
She shook her head. "I'll just have to sleep on this. Hope I get a mission tonight. I'm sick of these boring nights at home."
Sighing, she pulled out her toothbrush, applied a bit of toothpaste, and set to brushing. Maybe she'd remember what happened last night by the time she woke up.
-----
I am... Rouge. Rouge the Bat.
I am beautiful.
I am sensual.
But I am not perfect.
I want to be perfect.
I want to be perfection itself.
I will become perfection itself.
I need you.
I need to be you.
You need to be me.
You and I shall become "us."
We will become "us."
We will become perfection.
We must become perfection.
Only through "us" will we become perfection.
Only through "us."

Rouge woke up with no recollection of her dreams, aside from a slight suspicion it had something to do with the color that was her namesake. She shrugged it off and hastily prepared a quick breakfast--or whatever the nocturnal equivalent was called--and put on a fresh bodysuit (which was, of course, completely identical to the one she was wearing before). She didn't know where this sudden drive had come from, but she intended to make the most of it. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
