This choice: One of the geeky students stole Michael's video game from his backpack • Go Back...Chapter #7One of the geeky students stole Michael's v... by: scriptboy   Michael brough several of his games in his backpack to school with him the following day, and kept them in his backpack until recess. He pulled them out and showed them to some of his friends in the cafeteria, but some of the other kids took note, including Cody, one of the more geeky kids in school. Cody was really shy and timid, but he was a big video game geek and pretty much one of the biggest nerds in the second grade.
Cody sat near the back of the classroom and he usually kept to himself, but he was still very smart and he was an ace in math and science. He was pretty cool with Michael although he didn't talk much. He was usually just thinking about video games and he couldn't wait to get out of class so he could get home and play his favorite video games once he got home. So, he was really interested in seeing Michael's games but he couldn't get close enough to the table where Michael was sitting so he could get a close look at all his games.
Once recess was over, the students all made a line outside of their classroom and waited for the teacher to allow them to enter the classroom. They all set their backpacks on the floor once they arrived at their seats and Michael sat down and realized that a few of his games were missing from his bag. When he looked up, he saw that Cody was sitting right next to him, and he was admiring a few of his games at his own desk, including his car racing game and his soccer game.
"Dude! You got the Evolution Pro 2014 Soccer game already?" Cody whispered to him. "Man! That game just came out like a few weeks ago!"
"Hey man! Don't be looking at my games in class! I don't want to get in trouble! I'll let you look at my games after class, okay?" Michael whispered back to Cody as he snatched the games away from him and put them back into his backpack.
"Awww dude... I love soccer games... I wish I could play soccer in real life as good as I play them in the video game..." Cody sighed.
Cody was a short kid with blond hair and blue eyes and he was skinny as well, but he was always friendly although he seemed shy and timid at times. But the remarks he made game Michael an idea.
"Wait... I got an idea... Meet me after class!" he said to Cody.
About an hour-and-a-half later, when the sixth period was over, the boys walked outside.
"So... Tell me about this idea of yours?" Cody asked him.
"I got a great idea!" Michael smiled.
"Oh yeah?"
"You play soccer, right?"
"Yeah! I have to play at six tonight!" Cody replied. "At the field located at Tom Brown Park! Why?"
"Dude! I can make you play soccer like a pro!" Michael grinned.
"How will you do that?" Cody wondered.
"I'm gonna make you play like a champ... I'll show you!" Michael said, as he started walking towards his house. "Come to me house!"
In an instant, both Cody and Michael were standing in Michael's bedroom!
"Hey! How did I get in your room so fast?" Cody gasped out loud.
"I teleported us, Cody! That way we wouldn't waste time!" michael explained as he got an old Xbox controller out of his desk drawer.
"What? But... But... How...?" Cody wondered. "And... What are you doing with that old game controller?"
"From now on, this is becoming the Cody Controller!" Michael explained, as he closed his eyes and concentrated on the controller. Several new buttons magically appeared on the face of the controller, which was gray-colored and had handles on both sides along with numerous fire buttons and a joystick near the thumb. It also had a button which was a slider on the left side as well.
"What... How did you do that?" Cody asked him. "And... What does it do?"
"The Insert and Extract buttons will allow whoever is using the controller to insert you into any digital video game as a game character, and they can remove you and put you back into real life by pressing the Extract button. Also, the Jump button makes you jump. They can also press the Kick, Throw, and Run buttons." Michael explained.
"Holy smoke! Do they work?" Cody asked.
"Yes... Of course! But YOU can't use it because you can't control yourself! Only other people can use it!" Michael grinned.
"I don't get it..." Cody frowned. "What are you talking about? What game can you play with this?"
"Dude! YOU are the video game!" Michael said, as he pressed the Jump button. This caused Cody to hop five inches in the air and then land back on his feet again!
"Hey! What... What the heck??" Cody gasped. "You made me hop!"
Michael pressed the button three times in a row.
Cody hopped straight into the air... three times ina row... landing on the balls on his feet before his calves flexed and launched his body straight up into the air again! This happened three times in a row!
"Holy... Cow!...Mike!" Cody shouted after his third jump.
"There! Works like a charm! Now... I'm gonna make you play soccer tonight... You'll be my soccer game... for REAL!" Michael smiled. "Tomorrow we'll take you to the mall where we'll have fun with you at the video arcade!"
"Wow...." Cody gasped.
"You'll be the character of any video game we put you in!" Michael explained.
Cody couldn't wait till soccer practice....
