Sandra slowly opened her eyes, a momentary blinding flash of white caused her to flinch slightly, before they adjusted and she could make out the outline of the fluorescent light fixture above. Another few moments passed before she could feel a presence in the room next to the bedside and she slowly turned her head over.
“Well…at least we know it works.”
Standing next to her bedside was a young man, a boy in his teenage years, that looked at once familiar and yet completely foreign to her. He stood at a decent height, maybe around 5 foot 7, and had dusty blonde hair. His features were a mixture of various ethnicities, though she could very well have just gone with the WASP description. The feature she immediately noticed, though, was his eyes. His eyes were a crystal green hue.
Hannah had those very eyes.
“H-Hannah?” she whispered and immediately felt her throat as the voice, though raspy, was definitely much lower and more pronounced. The adams apple underneath her hand, too, was something equally as pronounced.
“One and the same…sort of.” The boy smiled and nodded his head. “It’s Michael, though…that’s what they tell me, anyway.” He looked at her for a few moments. “Would you like to see how you turned out?”
